SOLEcuador, in coordination with the Children’s Development Center (CDC) “Portal de Belén” and the Episcopal Church of Ecuador, offers recognized volunteering opportunities in SOCIO-ECONOMIC, EDUCATION, and MEDICINE fields.
As a volunteer, you will have the gratifying experience of working in conjunction with other volunteers, CDC’s staff, and local health centers towards improving the quality of life of CDC’s children and their families. Our volunteers range from professionals and students, to anyone who wishes to make a difference in a child’s life.
Professionals can apply their specialized skills in benefit of others.
University and High School students will gain valuable experience by working with young children and learning from a variety of coordinated activities.

CDC, in partnership with Health Center #9, Comité del Pueblo Unit and the National Institute for Children and the Family (INFFA), offers medical services and emergency health care for children under 5 years old. |

Since 2006, CDC “Portal de Belén” has been offering early stimulation and day care services to low income families and single mothers with children under 5 years old. CDC also offers workshops to families on topics of nutrition, family values, children’s rights, self-esteem, psychological and legal counseling, to name a few. In addition, CDC organizes periodic pot-lucks and senior citizen breakfast events to promote communitarian solidarity in the northern part of Quito.
CDC's MISSION: To build life-lasting learning experiences and develop skills and abilities in children. To promote useful, efficient, and human education while following Episcopal precepts to face up to and resolve real life problems.
CDC's VISION: To help children become the solicitors of their own development by giving them access to the principles and knowledge which will make an adequate life for them and their families feasible.
