ONLINE COURSES POLICY

A typical ONLINE lesson lasts 1 hour.

ONLINE Courses will be conducted for the full length of the scheduled lesson(s).

ONLINE Courses will begin and finish on the scheduled day and time.

Lost time or persistent interruptions, adding up to 25% of the ONLINE lesson due to technical problems beyond the control of the student or the teacher, will be recovered at a later time at the discretion of the instructor.

All ONLINE learning materials such as: written exercises, spoken lessons, reading assignments, video clips, songs, games, etc., will be sent to the student(s) through the internet using SKYPE or via Email.

Once SOLEcuador receives your payment and confirmation of payment transfer and availability to start lessons, SOLEcuador will send new student(s) a welcoming message, a copy of weekly class schedule and a confirmation to start courses.

SOLE goes through great lengths to meet our students expectations concerning the quality of our courses and teachers but if an ONLINE student is not entirely satisfied with his/her ONLINE teacher, the student can contact the Academic Director and request a different instructor. info@solecuador.com

All payments must be made to FEBRONIA DE LOURDES CASTRO COBA (Academic Director) in order for SOLE´s policies to be in effect. ANY PAYMENTS MADE TO OTHER LEARNING INSTITUTIONS, COMPANIES, FIRMS OR INDIVIDUALS DIFFERENT THAN THOSE MENTIONED ABOVE, SOLE WILL NOT BE LIABLE OR RESPONSIBLE IN ANY WAY FOR COURSES, SCHEDULES OR REEMBURSMENTS.

ONLINE LESSON CANCELLATION POLICY

Unless an Online student notifies SOLEecuador (24 to 48 hours in advanced, depending on the length of the course) before canceling a lesson, the Online student will lose that lesson. If the Online student is part of a TWO-on-ONE or GROUP 3+ TYPE OF COURSE, it's recommended that he or she contacts his/her learning partner(s) to catch up on any missing material or homework scheduled for the following class. Make up classes will be given at the discretion of the teacher.

If proper notification is issued than the student is eligible for a make-up lesson at the discretion of the teacher.

ONLINE COURSE TERMINATION POLICY

Unless an Online student decides to terminate his or her Spanish course in its entirety do to a valid reason and within a reasonable period of time (drastic changes in schedule, health issues, etc.), the Online student will not be reimburshed for the remaining time left in his/her Learning Package.

If Online course termination is due to the dissatisfaction of the student with the lessons or teacher, SOLEcuador may advice the student to change either course type, course level, and/or instructor.

Reimbursements will take effect in extraordinary circumstances such as serious illness or unforeseen events during their time in Ecuador and will apply ONLY to the remaining time of the total course. (A 20% charge of this remaining time will be deducted for administrative expenses).

ONLINE STUDENT POLICY

Students should notify SOLE or their Online Tutor (via Email) if they plan to miss any Online lessons at least 24 to 48 hours in advanced, depending on the lenght of the course, in order to schedule a make-up lesson. Failing to do so will result in the loss of the missed lesson(s).

Students must make a full payment of the Learning Package of their choice before starting schedule lessons. (This is not applicable to Free Trial Class)

Students are entirely responsible for covering any and all transfer fees if applicable.

Students are expected to perform all learning tasks and do the written exercises as instructed by their Online tutor.

Students should advice their Online tutor about topics or tasks that they do not wish to do.

Students should try to work out any problems with schedules or courses with their Online tutor before contacting the Academic Director.

Students are expected to carry themselves in a respectful and courteous manner throughout the length of the Online lesson.

TWO-on-ONE COURSES: if one of the learning partners is NOT ONLINE at the specified  day and time without a valid justification, the lesson or lessons WILL NOT be recovered. The missing student is encouraged to contact his/her Online learning partner to catch up on any missed material or homework. 

Students who wish to register in TWO-one-ONE Courses are encouraged to bring a learning partner with them. SOLE will provide a equivalent learning partner to any student who does not have a learning partner but who still wishes to take TWO-on ONE courses. (Check for availability with the Academic Director)

Students who wish to switch to TWO-to-ONE Courses can do so depending on class availability.

GROUPS 3+ COURSES: if one or more of the group learning partners is NOT ONLINE at the specified day and time without valid justification, the lesson or lessons WILL NOT be recovered.  The missing student(s) is/are encouraged to contact other Online group learning partners in order to catch up on any missed material or homework.  

Students who wish to enroll in one of our GROUPS 3+ Courses are encouraged to bring their own group learning partners with them (At least 2 other students). Students who do not have enough group learning partners can check with the Academic Coordinator for Groups 3+ availability.

Students who wish to switch to GROUP Courses can do so depending on class availability.

ONLINE TEACHER POLICY

Online teachers will begin and finish Online lessons as scheduled.

Online teachers will contact their student(s) if an Online lesson is to be canceled 24 to 48 hours in advanced, depending on the lenght of the course.

Online teachers will remain Online for 15 minutes after the scheduled Online lesson's starting time even if the student is not Online in case he or she is running a little late. If the student still fails to show up after 15 minutes, then he or she will be considered absent, the teacher will go OFF LINE and the lesson WILL NOT be recovered.

Online teachers will provide Online students with an optional learning activity before each Online lesson which they can download and work on while waiting to be reconnected with their instructor if a technical problem was to occur. These optional lessons last about 15 minutes.

Teachers will offer make-up Online lessons to students who notify planned absences to SOLEcuador in due time.

Online teachers must explain all material and give clear instructions before assigning homework or carrying out tests.

Online teachers will pay close attention to the individual needs and interests of the student.

Online teachers will begin conducting lessons in Spanish as students learn basic grammar and improve their vocabulary.

Online teachers will carry Online lessons in a professional and respectful manner.
